Oh my goodness! You will not believe where I have just returned from!
I went to a small village and when I got there I talked with other people
in a big marae.
When we finished, we went to the whare kai to say a karakia.
When we finished saying the karakia we were allowed to start eating.
The food we ate was hangi. The kai was good, delicious and brilliant.
Then we went to see the girls doing the poi in the marae .
When we finishad our feed we went outside to meet and talk to the people. Then we went to see the pigs. We went to a small village and had a sleep. The next day we had a karakia and when we finished the karakia we went to a marae and had a talk. When I heard someone shouting outside the marae. We went outside. There were five strong warriors from the enemy village. We had a fight with the people, and soon they ran a way and they didn’t want to come back.
The next day I went home on a big time machine.

My Inquiry Presentation!
I researched Maori education from past to present as part of our topic 'Whanaungatanga'. Did you know that in the past, Maori was not allowed to be spoken at school? Neither did I! Check out my presentation below!

My First Movie!
Miss Hansell set a challenge of making our very first movie using iMovie! We had to take the pictures, add transitions, add music and edit it all ourselves! Here is the end product, I hope you like it.

Pirate ship
On Wednesday Alison, Kelini, Wiremu, Mavis, Faith and I went outside to follow some measuring instructions. We had a piece of paper with instructions and when we got there we started drawing the pirate ship. We did this because we were practicing our measuring.

My Learning Goals for Term Two
My learning goal for Reading this term is:
To read one book a night.
To achieve this goal,I will need to:
Make sure I have taken my book from my book box and taken it home
and read it each night and returned my book to school.
My whanau can help me achieve this by:
Help me with my reading by listening to me read and asking me questions to check my understanding.
My learning goal for writing is:
To work on my spelling
To achieve this goal,I will need to:
I will need to practise my spelling words every night for homework.
My whanau can help me achieve this by:
They can test me every night, they can check my spelling when I write for homework.
My learing goal for Maths is:
To count on from the bigger number when I am adding two numbers together.
To achieve this goal,I will need to:
Know which number to start from and count on in my mind.
My whanau can help me achieve this by:
Give me maths questions to solve so I can practise my counting on.
My Personal goal is:
Make good choices in class time and respect all teachers.
To achieve this goal,I will need to:
Focus on my learning. Ask questions politely when I am not sure and if I find something hard, I need to ask for help.
My whanau can help me achieve this goal by:
Reminding me to make good choices at school and to speak nicely and clearly to all the teachers.
